THEORY OF POETRY

FOREWORD.

This book gives both students and teachers of different levels information and an insight , they need in order to link the theory of poetry to the overall steps and procedures which are to be taken while one is reading, interpreting, and analyzing and writing poetry in general. It also has important contribution to our knowledge and understanding of different subjects like love, marriage, neo colonialism, Democracy and globalisation. Because this version embodies different themes reflecting our con temporality. Moreover the book offers benefit to our understanding that poetry as a literary genre draws much its attention to the connotative meaning rather than denotative meaning of the words. And therefore, it needs much power for a reader to assign an appropriate meaning and adhere to actual coded symbols on its meaning.
Finally, although this first edition of poetry draws a wide range of sources to show how poetry should be interpreted and analyzed but the version also makes a considerable use of examples from modern poems.
