The Tragedy With Our Life.

When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.

The world is a complicated and wonderful place.Though there are struggles and tragedies, the positives far outweigh the negatives. However, this is easy to forget when something or many somethings pollute the news and are shoved in our faces. In light of recent events, I find myself preparing to answer the questions that will inevitably be asked by my friends.

The following is what I intend to convey. There are situations in life that we will never fully understand. Hate will show itself through violence and spread, if allowed. This can be scary, but what we have to remember is that love has the same power and much more. When bad things happen, our initial response is to be sad, mad, and fight back.

The problem with this is it requires us to take our focus off all the good that makes this life amazing. Unhappy people will always look for ways, sometimes extreme ways, to bring us with them down the road of despair. It is a choice we make daily to focus on the more prevalent joy around us.

Each morning the sun greets us like an old friend, the birds go about singing in a concert of peace and the leaves sway in the breezes of change. These are the reminders that love is here, ALWAYS here when we choose to see it. No matter what is happening around us, we have a choice to turn our focus to all the wonder and beauty in life.

Personally, I turn away from the news and any social feeds that perpetuate the current wave of negativity and choose instead to focus on the beautiful faces and loving eyes of my friends, the calm voice of my true friends, and the breath inside me. These are the things that awaken hope and bring love into focus for me. I don’t run from tragedy, instead I stand in its presence and focus on love and sleep peacefully knowing the outbreak of hate and fear is cut short on its journey as it approaches me. I will not be its messenger. Peace and love to all.
